Water Polo

I took photographs of the Hercules Boys' Water Polo Team last weekend. While the boys were warming up, I decided to practice photographing the other game for the meantime.
I really liked how these photographs turned out. I wish this person was at Hercules High so I can put it in our school’s yearbook ): Oh well, at least this gave me an opportunity to post it up on my blog!
In the first photograph, the Berkeley student is grabbing for the ball. Behind him, a hand is spotted getting ready to grab after him.
The other action shot beneath the first photo is also of the same Berkeley player. He is shooting the ball at the goalie, which is seen in the lower right corner of the photo and a hand ready to block the shoot. Behind the Berkeley player is a hand swimming towards him. It is not very clear, but the white water is shown of the swimmer behind the Berkeley player.
I had a lot of fun taking photos of the water polo games. This is my first year actually trying to take pictures for the water polo team(s).

These are amazing pictures. I love how you were able to capture the moment and the determination on the players face. Amazing! I also admire how you got the pictures to come out so clear despite it being an action shot.

  7. Annika,

I really like the pictures you feature in your posts. Like they say, a picture is worth a thousand words! I would really love to hear what you think of these pictures from an emotional standpoint. As a photographer, I imagine that each picture conveys something different than the one before it. I want to know what goes on in Annika's mind when she takes and looks at these photographs!
